We can help you find better opportunities, tell stronger stories, grow strategic relationships, and give funders clear reasons to believe in your work.

Starting
a Nonprofit

The Nonprofit Factor helps individuals turn their passion and vision into an established organization with practical guidance and professional support.

  • Work with individuals to help them understand how to set up their nonprofit to meet their goals.
  • Establish the organization and obtain its EIN.
  • Write and submit the 501(c)(3) application.

The goal is not simply completing the forms. It is helping you move forward with a clear understanding what you are building and what to expect.

After several months of searching for the right fit for our organization we signed on with The Consultancy and it has been a rewarding experience for myself as Treasurer and for our board as a whole. Megan and [The Consultancy’s Associate] always meet - or exceed - deadlines, and their attention to detail is thorough. Their commitment to customer service has never wavered, and any questions or inquiries that I have are always answered in a timely manner. I am so happy that we partnered with The Consultancy for our bookkeeping and accounting needs!

THE PERSON BEHIND THE FACTOR

Meet Megan

Megan McInnis is the founder, driving force, and Chief Innovator of The Nonprofit Factor. She has spent her career helping people turn good ideas into meaningful realities with practical results. Her experience spans managing corporate brands, communications, collaborations, nonprofit operations, organizational strategy, volunteer engagement, and everything in between.

During her managing communications, brand, special events, and providing customer service for The Walt Disney Company, she learned how much thoughtful work happens behind the scenes to create meaningful, memorable experiences. She continues to carry that lesson into nonprofit leadership, teaching, board service, community partnerships, and the nonprofit she founded and still leads today, Doing Good.

And yes, the Highland cow and tartan have a story. They are a wink and a nod to Megan’s heritage and heart—Scotch-Irish roots, Southern charm with an independent streak, and a sense of humor that occasionally wanders into the pasture.

Beneath the fun, she takes very seriously listening well, treating people kindly, using resources wisely, and following through.

At its heart, The Nonprofit Factor is Megan. It is simply one more way she has created to serve people who serve others.
